You must have a student visa if studying for a semester or more. If you are enrolled in a short term English Language Course, or participating in a Study Tour for less than 3 months’ duration, depending on your country of origin, you may travel on a tourist visa.
In order to be eligible for a student visa you must be fully enrolled in an Australian Education Institution and have received a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) or Acceptance Advice Form (AAF). These are issued by the institution you will be attending, generally after receiving your tuition fees.
English + Further Study Downunder is the main link to your chosen institution and can assist with enrolment, visa preparation and compliance as well as follow-up and support once you commence your studies.
Conditions of the Student Visa include:
- A full time study load
- Compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – Health Insurance for Students
- Maintaining standing as a student i.e. maintain GPA, attending classes full time and remaining enrolled in your institution.
Citizens of the United States, Norway and Sweden studying in Australia for less than 12 months on an undergraduate program are eligible to apply on-line for their student visa. Others should contact the nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate.
Contact us as soon as you decide you wish to study in Australia and we will commence the process.
